The | Event

The St. Michaels Running Festival has been one of the premier destination races in the Mid-Atlantic since our inaugural event in 2012. Based in one of the oldest waterfront towns on the Chesapeake, runners will be treated to beautiful water views, breathtaking communities and tranquil runs down country lanes and a rockin' after-party in downtown St. Michaels

Half | Marathon

This race is one of only two Maryland events recognized in the TOP 100 HALF MARATHONS IN THE USA! Our course is beautiful and built to help you reach a new PR. The first mile takes you past downtown St. Michaels – one of the most picturesque waterfront towns in the region. Once you pass main street, you will be treated to expansive views, waterfront communities and country lanes as you wind your way back towards the downtown area for the finish line celebration.

What’s included in the half marathon registration?

10K | Run or Walk

The 10K is back! The 10K routs starts at the St. Michaels School complex and finishes right in the center of downtown St. Michaels. Runners head right down main street for the first mile before turing down some gentle country lanes. You’ll make the Mt. Pleasant Landing loop and take in a few stunning water views before heading back to town and the finish line located in the center of St. Michaels. Finish your run by celebrating at he after party listening to a racking band while hanging out in the bee garden.

5k | Run or Walk

The 5k route leads down gorgeous country lanes, traverses our breathtaking rails to trails runners path with water views and finishes right in downtown St. Michaels at the runner's after party.

1k | Kids Fun Run

Also available is a 1k Kids Fun Run for children ages 12 and younger. All children will receive a race shirt, runner bib and finisher's medal! Registration fees are $25 and a portion of the proceeds benefit SMYLE (St. Michaels Youth and Law Enforcement - promoting unity in our community).

Kids fun run registration will be available at the pre-race expo on Friday, and, on race day at the official race store located at the after party on Fremont Street until 11:00 am.

Please note that the event does not provide any supervision or oversight for minors at the event. All kids participating in the event must be supervised by a parent, guardian or family member 18 years or over.

PLEASE NOTE: All registration fees are non-refundable. There are no exceptions to this policy.

Online | Registration

You can register online for the St. Michaels Running Festival half marathon, 5K and 1K Kid’s Fun Run by clicking the "REGISTER NOW" button below. The half marathon and 5K start at the St. Michaels Middle High School Campus and all participants should arrive at the school campus before 6:30am on Saturday, May 16th. The 1K Kid’s Fun Run is on May 16th and starts at the finish area on Fremont Street at 11:15am.

Online registration will be available until 7:00 am on RACE DAY, May 16th.

On-Site | Registration

On-site race registration will be available at the expo at the start area on Friday, May 15th from 3:30pm to 8:30pm, and, Saturday, May 16th from 5:30am to 6:45am.

Kid’s registration will be located at registration and runner’s services at the Expo on Friday, May 15th and at the official race store at the after party on Fremont Street on Saturday, May 16th from 8am-11am.

On-site transfers will be available at the expo. The cost to transfer your entry on site is:

Bib | Mailing Option

Bib Mailing Option

If there is any chance that you will not be able to make it to the race expo or if you simply prefer having the convenience, you may choose to have your race bib and shirt mailed to you. The fee for the bib mailing service is $15 per person. The bib mailing option will close on April 1st at 11:59 pm.

If you are already registered, CLICK HERE to add a bib mailing option to your registration. Please log into your account, select the event St. Michaels Running Festival and click "additional purchases".

Please note that SMRF is unable to mail your race bib and/or shirt. Race bibs and shirts have to be picked up at the pre-race expo: on Friday between 3:30 pm and 8:30pm, or, on race morning between 5:30am and 6:45am or mailed to the address of your choice by purchasing a bib mailing option. Unfortunately there are no exceptions to this policy.

If you purchased a bib mailing option prior to March 31st, you will need to login to your account and confirm your address by April 7th 11:59 pm.

Your bib and shirt will be mailed to the address you provided when you registered.

Expedited Bib Mailing Option

There is an expedited bib mailing option available for purchase on for $30. The expedited bib mailing option opens on April 1st and will close on May 5th at 11:59 pm.

CLICK HERE to purchase an expedited bib mailing. Please log into your account, select the St. Michaels Running Festival and click additional purchases. PLEASE NOTE the expedited bib mailing option will not be available until April 1st.

Check My Registration Status

If you think you’ve signed up but you just can’t find that confirmation email, you’ll definitely want to check. If you don’t find anything in the system, it means you aren’t signed up yet!

Defer My Registration

SMRF has a one year registration deferment option available to registered runners. No need to worry if your plans change or you can’t make it to the race - you can now defer your registration. Registrations may only be deferred one time to the following year. Registrations may not be deferred beyond the one year time limit. There is a $25 cost associated with deferring your registration. The deferral option closes at 11:59pm on May 10. Unfortunately, we are unable to accept deferrals after that date and there are no exceptions to this policy. Please note that once you have deferred your registration the transfer option will no longer be available and your registration may not be transferred to another participant.

Manage My Personal Information

You can confirm or edit your personal information by accessing your registration profile under the St. Michaels Running Festival.

Transfer My Registration to Another Race Distance

You can transfer your registration to another race distance for a fee of $10. If you transfer to a longer distance, there is a charge for the difference between the cost of your registration and the current registration cost for the category to which you’re transferring, plus the $10 transfer fee. If you transfer your registration to a shorter distance, there is only the $10 transfer fee.

Transfer My Registration

You can transfer your registration to another participant for a fee of $10. The $10 fee is paid by the TRANSFEROR. The first step is to find an individual that wants to accept the transfer of your registration. Once you’ve got the person lined up, you’ll need to login to your account to complete the transfer. Please note that we are unable to transfer previously deferred registrations to another person.

Team | Registrations

If you’re a charity organization, company, team, school or a bunch of friends who want to run together you can take advantage of group pricing discounts. St. Michaels Running Festival offers discount group pricing for any teams of 5 or more runners.

Team registrations are sold in groups of 5 and discounted $10 off the prevailing half marathon price, and $5 off the prevailing 5K price. If you want to register as a team, simply follow these steps:

1. CLICK HERE and head over to our registration page

2. Once on the registration page, select either the half marathon or 5K “Team of Five (Create a Team)” option

3. Register yourself (the Team Captain), name your team and chose a unique code your team-mates will use when registering.

4. At check out, pay the discounted price for your team.

5. Then invite members to join your team! Be sure to send them your team’s unique code so they can register on your team using the prepaid code from step 3.

6. To have your teammates register, they will CLICK HERE and choose “Team of Five (Join an Existing Team)” option for the correct distance you've chosen for your team.
