Official Charity | Partners

SMRF supports a number of local charities and organizations which provide vitally needed services and support to our community. SMRF does this through making direct donations to local organizations and creating a platform from which charities are able raise funds.

SMRF has 5 official charity partners for this year's event - they are all listed below. Our charity partners receive a package which includes comped entries to the event, a dedicated section on our CHARITY FUNDRAISING PAGE, a number of Facebook posts to let our social media community know about initiatives and exciting things they are doing, a presence in the Local Charities section of our email communications, and, an on-site presence at the expo and on race day giving them an opportunity to meet the runners and tell you a little bit about what they do.

The SMRF team is proud to say that since we started in 2012, SMRF has donated and raised in excess of $350,000 for local charities. Let's continue that tradition and make this year's event the largest charitable giving year yet. Please support a local charity and help raise some much needed funds.

St. Michaels YMCA

The St. Michaels Family YMCA, a branch of the YMCA of the Chesapeake, opened on May 19, 2007 and currently serves 1,800 residents of the St. Michaels and greater Bay Hundred communities.

The generosity of others is at the core of the Y’s existence as a not-for-profit. It is only through the support of our dedicated volunteers and public and private donors that we are able to support and give
back to the community we engage.

The YMCA Strong Communities Campaign is an annual fundraising campaign focused on raising
much needed resources to support proven YMCA programs that give kids the opportunities they need to reach their full potential: to live healthier, happier lives today, and grow into productive
adults in the future.

Choosing to support the St. Michaels Family YMCA through the St. Michaels Running Festival Charity Program, you will be supporting our Strong Communities Campaign which directly helps children, teens and adults right here in our community!  We strive to raise enough funds to ensure no one is turned away due to the inability to pay.

Thank you for considering the Y as your charity-of-choice for the your St. Michaels Running Festival experience!

Our Pet Pantry provides more than 3 tons of pet food annually to residents in need. Our educational programs ranging from pre-K to adult, offer information and lessons on everything from humane care to kindness to animals. Our volunteers can be found at community events every week sharing the good news about our work at Talbot Humane and showing our animals for adoption. Talbot Humane is contracted to provide Animal Control services to Talbot County MD 40 hours per week.  As a nonprofit, 501 (c)(3) organization, we rely heavily on the support of our supporters, local businesses and friends so that we may continue fulfilling our mission to the animals of our community.

Our facility at 7894 Ocean Gateway in Easton, MD has expanded over the years to keep up with the needs of a growing animal population in the community.
