The | Event

The St. Michaels Running Festival has been one of the premier destination races in the Mid-Atlantic since our inaugural event in 2012. Based in one of the oldest waterfront towns on the Chesapeake, runners will be treated to beautiful water views, breathtaking communities and tranquil runs down country lanes and a rockin' after-party in downtown St. Michaels

Half | Marathon

This race is one of only two Maryland events recognized in the TOP 100 HALF MARATHONS IN THE USA! Our course is beautiful and built to help you reach a new PR. The first mile takes you past downtown St. Michaels – one of the most picturesque waterfront towns in the region. Once you pass main street, you will be treated to expansive views as you wind your way back towards the downtown area for the finish line celebration.

In addition to offering the flattest, fastest USATF half marathon in the region, runners get a generous package including technical race shirt, energy gels and Gatorade along the course, finisher medal, complimentary refreshment, handmade finish line treats, live music and so much more.

5k | Run or Walk

The 5k route leads down gorgeous country lanes, traverses our breathtaking rails to trails runners path with water views and finishes right in downtown St. Michaels at the runner's after party.

All 5k participants get a generous package including a technical race shirt, finisher pin, complimentary refreshment, handmade finish line treats and live music.

1k | Kids Fun Run

Also available is a 1k Kids Fun Run for children ages 12 and younger. All children will receive a race shirt, runner bib and finisher's medal (made from rubber so it's kid friendly)! Registration fees are $25 and all proceeds benefit the St. Michaels Community Center and SMYLE (St. Michaels Youth and Law Enforcement - promoting unity in our community).

This is a great way for kids to be a part of the event and start learning about their own physical fitness. If your child would like to participate but cannot afford the entry fee, financial assistance is available through the St. Michaels Community Center.

Kids fun run registration will be available at the pre-race expo on May 17th at St. Michaels High School. Race day registration will be located at the official race store, located at the after party on Fremont St until 11:00 am.

Please note that the event does not provide any supervision or oversight for minors at the event. All kids participating in the event must be supervised by an adult 18 years or over.

PLEASE NOTE: All registration fees are non-refundable. There are no exceptions to this policy.

Online | Registration

You can register online for the St. Michaels Running Festival half marathon, 5K and 1K Kid’s Fun Run by clicking the "REGISTER NOW" button below. The half marathon and 5K start at the St. Michaels Middle High School Campus and all participants should arrive at the school campus before 6:30am on Saturday, May 18th. The 1K Kid’s Fun Run is on May 18th and starts at the finish area on Fremont Street at 11:15am.

Online registration will be available until 7:00 am on RACE DAY, May 18th.


On-Site | Registration

On-site race registration will be available at the expo at the start area on Friday, May 17th from 3:30pm to 8:30pm, and, Saturday, May 18th from 5:30am to 6:45am.

Kid’s registration will be located at registration and runner’s services at the Expo on Friday, May 17th and at the official race store at the after party on Fremont Street on Saturday, May 18th from 8am-11am.

On-site transfers will be available at the expo. The cost to transfer your entry on site is:

  • Half marathon to 5k: $10
  • 5k to half marathon: $55
  • One participant to another: $10

Bib | Mailing Option


If there is any chance that you will not be able to make it to the race expo or if you simply prefer having the convenience, you may choose to have your race bib and shirt mailed to you. The fee for the bib mailing service is $15 per person.

The bib mailing option will close on April 1st at 11:59 pm.

If you are already registered, CLICK HERE to add a bib mailing option to your registration. Please log into your account, select the event 2019 St. Michaels Running Festival and click "additional purchases".

If you have purchased a bib mailing option prior to March 31st, you will need to login to your account and confirm your address by April 7th 11:59 pm.

Your bib and shirt will be mailed to the address you provided when you registered. To confirm your mailing address, CLICK HERE.

PLEASE NOTE: Your race bib and/or shirt will NOT be mailed to you after the race.
Race bibs and shirts MUST either be picked up at the race expo on Friday May 17th or on race morning Saturday May 18th,
or mailed to the address of your choice by purchasing a bib mailing option. There are no exceptions to this policy.


There is an expedited bib mailing option available for purchase on for $30. The expedited bib mailing option opens on April 1st and will close on May 5th at 11:59 pm.

To purchase an expedited bib mailing, CLICK HERE. Please log into your account, select the event 2019 St. Michaels Running Festival and click additional purchases. PLEASE NOTE the expedited bib mailing option will not be available until Monday, April 1, 2019.

We want to make sure that you have a great race experience – from the time you sign up until the time you're kicked back in your recliner and browsing through the great shots of you along the course.

Editing | My Registration Information

Whether you want to confirm, manage or update your registration all of these things can be done by logging into your account. CLICK HERE to access your account. Once you've logged into your account, select my events and then 2019 St. Michaels Running Festival. From your account you can access the following functions:

CHECK MY STATUS: If you think you’ve signed up but you just can’t find that confirmation email, you’ll definitely want to check. If you don’t find anything in the system, it means you aren’t signed up yet!

DEFERRALS: We’re happy to announce that we now have an official deferment option available! No need to worry if your plans change or you can’t make it to the race - you can now defer your registration. You may only defer to the following year’s event – 2020 in this case. There is a $25 cost associated with deferring your registration. The deferral option closes at 11:59pm on May 13, 2019. No deferrals will be accepted after that date and there are no exceptions to this policy.

MANAGE MY REGISTRATION: You can confirm or edit your personal information by accessing your registration profile under the 2019 St. Michaels Running Festival.

TRANSFER MY REGISTRATION: You can transfer your registration to another participant for a fee of $10. The $10 fee is paid by the TRANSFEROR.
The first step is to find an individual that wants to accept the transfer of your registration. Once you’ve got the person lined up, you’ll need to login to your account to complete the transfer.


Team | Registrations

If you’re a charity organization, company, team, school or a bunch of friends who want to run together you can take advantage of group pricing discounts. St. Michaels Running Festival offers discount group pricing for any teams of 5 or more runners.

Team registrations are sold in groups of 5 and discounted $10 off the prevailing half marathon price, and $5 off the prevailing 5K price. If you want to register as a team, simply follow these steps:

1. CLICK HERE and head over to our registration page

2. Once on the registration page, select either the half marathon or 5K “Team of Five (Create a Team)” option

3. Register yourself (the Team Captain), name your team and chose a unique code your team-mates will use when registering.

4. At check out, pay the discounted price for your team.

5. Then invite members to join your team! Be sure to send them your team’s unique code so they can register on your team using the prepaid code from step 3.

6. To have your teammates register, they will CLICK HERE and choose “Team of Five (Join an Existing Team)” option for the correct distance you've chosen for your team.
